The vulnerability
What the bug is
While leaving an IBSS in ieee80211_ibss_disconnect() mac80211 flushes stations, turns the carrier off and immediately tells the driver to leave as well. While there may be synchronize_net() in station flush and in this code later, packets can still be transmitted due to cross-CPU race conditions after carrier off is set. Therefore, it's possible for a race to happen where a TX to the driver occurs while or after telling it to leave the IBSS. This can be confusing to drivers, and in the case of iwlwifi leads to an attempt to use invalid queues. Move netif_carrier_off() to occur before sta_info_flush() during IBSS disconnect, and add synchronize_net() if flushing didn't, so that the synchronize_net() always happens between turning the carrier off and telling the driver, avoiding this race.
Where it lives
The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

Check it on the machine
grep -w CONFIG_MAC80211 /boot/config-$(uname -r)Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.
lsmod | grep -w mac80211Prints a line if that module is loaded right now, and nothing if it is not. One that is not loaded can still be loaded later by anything that needs it.
Show whether Debian builds this, per release
Debian builds this, but not on every flavour. At least one release below builds the code on some of its kernel flavours and not on others, so the answer depends on the architecture and flavour installed.

Why the CNA scored it this way
The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-93804, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
