The vulnerability
What the bug is
__nvme_fc_init_request() maps cmd_iu and then rsp_iu for DMA. If the rsp_iu mapping fails, the original code only recorded the error and fell through: it left the already-mapped cmd_iu unmapped and still marked the op as FCPOP_STATE_IDLE before returning. Since blk-mq does not call .exit_request() when .init_request() fails, the cmd_iu mapping is leaked for every op whose rsp_iu mapping fails. Jump to an error path on rsp_iu mapping failure that unmaps cmd_iu and returns the error without marking the op idle, so it stays in the FCPOP_STATE_UNINIT state set by the initial memset().
Where it lives
The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

Check it on the machine
grep -w CONFIG_NVME_FC /boot/config-$(uname -r)Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.
lsmod | grep -w nvme_fcPrints a line if that module is loaded right now, and nothing if it is not. One that is not loaded can still be loaded later by anything that needs it.
Show whether Debian builds this, per release
Debian builds this as a loadable module. Every release below compiles it as a module on every flavour, so whether the code is in the running kernel depends on whether that module is loaded.

Why the CNA scored it this way
The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-90411, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
