The vulnerability
What the bug is
The clk_init_data structure contains several mutually-exclusive members for different methods to specify the possible parents of a clock, prompting drivers to initialize only the members they need. However, not initializing all members may cause subtle issues, which are only exposed when CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_PATTERN or CONFIG_INIT_STACK_NONE is enabled. visconti_clk_register_gate() fills in init.parent_data, and assumes that init.parent_names is NULL. However, the latter in uninitialized, and thus may cause a crash. Make sure all members are fully initialized, to fix such bugs, and to avoid future breakage when converting drivers to a different method for specifying the parents.
Where it lives
The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

- ARM/TOSHIBA VISCONTI ARCHITECTUREMAINTAINERS section matched on drivers/clk/visconti/ · linux-arm-kernel@lists.infradead.org · Supported
- Kernel module
- none to look for. The file would have gone into clkc, and Debian does not compile it into that module, so finding clkc in lsmod would say nothing about this CVE.
Check it on the machine
grep -w CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_VISCONTI /boot/config-$(uname -r)Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.
Show whether Debian builds this, per release
Debian does not build this code. In 5 releases below, every kernel flavour Debian publishes has the switch off, so the vulnerable file is compiled into no kernel binary Debian ships.

Why the CNA scored it this way
The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-90122, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
