The vulnerability

What the bug is

Commit 651fdda8406d ("relay: update relay to use mmap_prepare") changed the `mmap` file operation to `mmap_prepare` for relayfs, but the lockdown check in debugfs was not updated accordingly. This prevents debugfs from being locked down when the kernel is in integrity mode if a file uses `mmap_prepare` but not `mmap`. Since the conversion to `mmap_prepare` across the kernel is not yet complete, update the lockdown check to look for both `mmap` and `mmap_prepare` to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Where it lives

The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

Check it on the machine

grep -w CONFIG_DEBUG_FS /boot/config-$(uname -r)

Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.

Why the CNA scored it this way

The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-89745, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
