The vulnerability

What the bug is

PKT_TYPE_TXRX_NOTIFY is an mmio-only event, but mt7615_rx_check() and mt7615_queue_rx_skb() dispatch it to mt7615_mac_tx_free() on every bus. mt7615_mac_tx_free() cleans the DMA tx queues with mt76_queue_tx_cleanup(), which calls queue_ops->tx_cleanup(). Only the mmio queue ops implement that callback; on the mt7663 USB and SDIO buses it is NULL, so a TXRX_NOTIFY there calls a NULL pointer in the RX worker. Same defect as the mt7921 and mt7925 patches in this series. Drop the event on non-mmio buses via mt76_is_mmio(), as in commit 5683e1488aa9 ("wifi: mt76: connac: do not check WED status for non-mmio devices").

Where it lives

The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

Check it on the machine

grep -wE 'CONFIG_MT7615_COMMON|CONFIG_MT76_CORE|CONFIG_WLAN|CONFIG_WLAN_VENDOR_MEDIATEK' /boot/config-$(uname -r)

Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.

lsmod | grep -w mt7615_common

Prints a line if that module is loaded right now, and nothing if it is not. One that is not loaded can still be loaded later by anything that needs it.

Show whether Debian builds this, per release

Debian builds this, but not on every flavour. At least one release below builds the code on some of its kernel flavours and not on others, so the answer depends on the architecture and flavour installed.

Why the CNA scored it this way

The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-68195, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
