What to do, per Debian release
Debian's own status for CVE-2026-43311 in every release this site tracks, and what each one means in practice. Every status below is the one the Debian Security Team publishes for this CVE. source
| Release | Status | Version | What this means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debian 12bookworm | not affected | 6.1.190-1 | Nothing to do. bookworm never shipped the vulnerable code. |
| Debian 13trixie | vulnerable | 6.12.113-1 | No fix published anywhere yet, neither in Debian nor upstream for the series trixie tracks. Watch the Debian tracker page for this CVE. Advisories for trixie have historically landed a median of 11 days after publication. |
| Debian 14forky | fixed | 6.19.6-1 | Update the kernel and reboot. Fixed in 6.19.6-1. A running kernel keeps the old code until the machine restarts. |
| Debian unstablesid | fixed | 6.19.6-1 | Update the kernel and reboot. Fixed in 6.19.6-1. A running kernel keeps the old code until the machine restarts. |
The vulnerability
What the bug is
Currently, when resuming from system suspend on Tegra platforms, the following warning is observed: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 14459 at kernel/irq/irqdesc.c:666 Call trace: handle_irq_desc+0x20/0x58 (P) tegra186_pmc_wake_syscore_resume+0xe4/0x15c syscore_resume+0x3c/0xb8 suspend_devices_and_enter+0x510/0x540 pm_suspend+0x16c/0x1d8 The warning occurs because generic_handle_irq() is being called from a non-interrupt context which is considered as unsafe. Fix this warning by deferring generic_handle_irq() call to an IRQ work which gets executed in hard IRQ context where generic_handle_irq() can be called safely. When PREEMPT_RT kernels are used, regular IRQ work (initialized with init_irq_work) is deferred to run in per-CPU kthreads in preemptible context rather than hard IRQ context. Hence, use the IRQ_WORK_INIT_HARD variant so that with PREEMPT_RT kernels, the IRQ work is processed in hardirq context instead of being deferred to a thread which is required for calling generic_handle_irq(). On non-PREEMPT_RT kernels, both init_irq_work() and IRQ_WORK_INIT_HARD() execute in IRQ context, so this change has no functional impact for standard kernel configurations. Where it lives
The fix touches these files. If the subsystem is one you do not use, the practical exposure is lower, though the package is still the vulnerable one.

Check it on the machine
grep -wE 'CONFIG_ARCH_TEGRA|CONFIG_SOC_TEGRA_PMC' /boot/config-$(uname -r)Reads the booted kernel's own configuration, on the machine and nowhere else. =y is built in, =m is a module, and an is not set line means the code is not there.

Debian builds this, but not on every flavour. At least one release below builds the code on some of its kernel flavours and not on others, so the answer depends on the architecture and flavour installed.

Why the CNA scored it this way
The kernel CNA published no CVSS vector and no reasoning for CVE-2026-43311, which is why it is shown as unrated rather than given an invented score. 6,405 of the 20,413 CVEs here carry reasoning; this is not one of them.
